But not only your body, mind and eyes have to be well equipped, your skin is also a very important part. Lubricate your body well with body lotion the night before the shoot. Not on the day itself, and certainly not just before you go to the set because that is where your skin will shine with bright light! Something that makes a photographer feel anything but happy.
The same skin must be clean, and you can not do that by scrubbing the day before the shoot, but by paying attention to your diet, and possibly a beautician who gives you an extra helping hand if your skin is not optimal. Do not squeeze out the evening or morning before the shoot that pimple. better have a small pimple than a red spot with a bump in the middle which is much harder to edit out.
Pack your bag the day before the shoot, and make sure you do not forget anything. Also take care of spacious clothing without tight elastics. And do not wear a bra, skinny jeans, tight socks, tight-fitting briefs, etcetera. Just look at the results of such items and the effects on the skin, which are enhanced by the flash light during the shoot:
Example of a bra: | Jeans and panty marks: |
Tight jeans leave a vertical line marking: |
And even socks leave marks: |
These are all things that could have been prevented and which are difficult for a photographer to neatly retouch. But which mainly costs money. After all, a photographer costs at least € 75, - per hour to several thousand euros ... very expensive so to spend time on something you can prevent, by carefully choosing your clothes. Make sure you arrive on time, because here too: time costs money. Getting late means that you will no longer be hired the next time, or will even be sent home immediately. It is therefore important to determine your route on time and to know how long your journey time will be. And should you unexpectedly be delayed, please let us know, even if it is only two minutes.
